Insanity at it's Finest.

I was changing Amelia's diaper and she was squirming and wiggling and just being difficult.  When I got to the point where I felt like I was wrestling an alligator, I said, "Amelia, if you don't quit moving your legs, I'm going to cut them off."  She just looked at me like, "What are you talking about?"  She must have understood that her leg wiggling was a serious source of frustration for me at that point though because she behaved for the remainder of the diaper changing.

What's is the craziest thing you have said in a moment of frustration?

  1. I usually tell Peanut I'm going to let the gypsies take her away if she doesn't behave. I think I've threatened to leave her by the side of the road too during a particularly heinous car ride.

  2. ROFL... I usually threaten time-outs and he knows I'm serious... I plead with God for a vacation... On occasion I have been known to threaten that I brought him into this world and I can take send him back out. :p He usually acts up more when we are "out" and it's harder to control. THOSE are the moments that make me never want to leave the house with a toddler again... Like yesterday when I made the mistake of NOT getting a cart at the grocery store (I only needed two things - he can walk, right? Not). He parked his little butt in front of the bakery cake display and I looked like THE MEANEST mommy in the world for not buying him a "caaaaaaaaaaake" (darn that birthday)... I ended up carrying him, his shoes (wouldn't stay on of course), my hand basket with salad supplies, AND my purse up to the register while he wailed. Not my finest moment. But better than the baking powder incident, perhaps. When can I have a vacation? LOL

  3. Oh, and as a child my aunt always threatened to "send us to Timbuktu"... I'm sure that will pop out of my mouth eventually. :)

  4. once I was about to threaten to sell my 3 year old on ebay, but instead I went and put myself in time out. He got all worried and kept knocking on the door. And I kept saying, 'I'm in time out and I'm not coming out until I'm sorry!" LOL

  5. The craziest thing I've ever said during a moment of frustration is "I'm leaving - Daddy's in charge!" :) (Hubby didn't care for my response!)

  6. So funny that you recounted this story as our She-Twin was a big leg wiggler during diaper changes...I remember saying "No!" really firmly and expecting her to stop. To my surprise, she looked straight at me and LAUGHED. That's when I knew all my suppositions about how my children would respond to discipline would need to be re-evaluated! ;)

Just discovered your blog via Multiples and More...happily following!

  8. Hi...I just landed on your blog from the Multiples and More site.

I laughed out loud reading this! I sometimes say crazy things, too...and - at least right now - I just give thanks that the girls are too young to really remember it. :) (Our fraternal twin girls are almost 15 months old.)

    Best!

  11. Coming by from Multiples and More to follow your blog!

Craziest thing I think I've ever said..."Turn the TV off or I'm going to throw it through the window!" Our TV weighs like 500lbs!!! (okay - maybe closer to 300 - but still too much for me to even lift let alone THROW). My 4 year old son actually rolled his eyes at me while shutting the TV off.

  12. I am hopping over from M&M and your post is too funny! Hmmm, I think it would have to be "If you do not pick up your toys, that is fine, the vaccuum will just suck them all up" (it worked just once and then my daughters realized that the hose was too small.)
    You have a great blog!
